RehabAlpha is still under active development. It is not yet HIPAA compliant and should only be used with dummy data.
Admission
A period of care for a facility-owned patient. An admission records dates of stay and billing episodes while retaining the facility and patient context.
Authorization
Approval from a payor for therapy services during a specific date range or up to a specific limit.
Billing episode
A section of an admission that records the primary payor, payment model type, date range, and services selected by discipline or by specific therapy case. A service line must match both the selection and date range and can match no more than one billing episode. PDPM episodes always use discipline selection for PT, OT, and SLP.
Case
A discipline-specific therapy episode, such as a PT, OT, or SLP case.
Coverage
A relationship between a patient, a payor, and a date range. Coverage represents who may be responsible for paying for care.
Facility
A location where therapy services are provided, such as a skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility, hospital, or outpatient clinic. A facility owns its patient records in RehabAlpha.
Member
A physician, therapist, or associate who belongs to an organization. A member may be linked to a user account; patients are not members.
Notice
An actionable reminder that something needs attention, such as an expiring license, missing documentation, or past-due progress report.
Payor
The person, plan, or program responsible for paying for all or part of a patient's care. In RehabAlpha, one payor record represents one reimbursement or benefit lane with one payment model type.
Re-evaluation
A clinical document used when therapy continues beyond the current certification period.
Schema
A JSON5-based definition that controls custom documentation templates in RehabAlpha.
Service line
A billable therapy service from an evaluation, treatment, or re-evaluation. Its billing episode is selected from the service date together with either its discipline or its specific therapy case.
