Write a recertification

Use a recertification when therapy needs to continue beyond the current certification period.

Before you start

Review:

  • the current plan of care
  • patient progress toward goals
  • remaining deficits
  • medical necessity for continued skilled therapy
  • the proposed frequency and duration for the next period

Complete the recertification

  1. Open the patient's therapy case.
  2. Click Recertifications.
  3. Click New recertification.
  4. Enter the new certification dates.
  5. Update goals, measures, diagnoses, and treatment plan details.
  6. Explain why continued skilled therapy is needed.
  7. Save the recertification.

After saving

Route the recertification for signature if required by your organization or payer workflow.
