Set up a patient
A patient is a person receiving therapy services. Patients cannot be users and cannot sign in to RehabAlpha.
Before you start
You’ll need a test organization to work from. See Set up an organization.
Create a patient
- Open People.
- Click Patients.
- Click New patient.
- Enter the patient's demographic information.
- Click Save.
Add a coverage
Coverage tells RehabAlpha who may be responsible for paying for the patient's therapy services.
- Open the patient.
- Click Coverages.
- Click New coverage.
- Select the payor.
- Enter the coverage start date.
- Enter an end date if the coverage has a known end date.
- Click Save.
Add an admission
An admission links the patient to the facility where care is being provided.
- Open the patient.
- Click Admissions.
- Click New admission.
- Select the facility.
- Enter the admit date.
- Add billing periods if your organization tracks billing setup in RehabAlpha.
- Click Save.
View a patient
- Open People.
- Click Patients.
- Find the patient in the list.
- Click their name.
Update a patient
- Open the patient.
- Click Edit.
- Update demographics, contact information, coverages, or admissions.
- Click Save.
Delete a patient
- Open the patient.
- Click Edit.
- Click Delete.
- Confirm the deletion.
Only delete a patient if the record is not needed for admissions, documentation, schedules, billing, or reporting.
