Deactivate users
Deactivate a user when someone should no longer be able to sign in to your organization, but their person record, schedules, documentation, signatures, notices, and reporting history should remain intact.
In RehabAlpha, this action is called Unlink user. Unlinking removes the connection between the person's organization record and their login account.
Before you start
You’ll need to be an organization admin or have permission to manage users.
Understand deactivation
Unlinking a user does not delete the person.
After a user is unlinked:
- the user can no longer access the organization
- the person record stays in RehabAlpha
- existing clinical documentation and related records remain connected to the person
- the person can be invited again later if they need access again
Use Delete only when the person record itself should be removed from the organization.
Deactivate a user
- Open People.
- Select the person.
- Open Settings.
- Find Danger zone.
- Click Unlink user.
- Type the confirmation term when prompted.
- Confirm the action.
After the user is unlinked, they should no longer be able to see or do anything in the organization.
Deactivate yourself
You can unlink your own user account from a person record if your permissions allow it.
If you are an admin, RehabAlpha will not let you unlink yourself when you are the organization's last admin.
Invite the user again
If the person needs access again later:
- Open People.
- Select the person.
- Open Settings.
- Click Invite user.
- Send a new invitation.
When the user accepts the invitation, they can rejoin the organization with the permissions configured for that person.
